I am picky about what boots I wear in the field. One, because I fully understand the importance of quality footwear and the negative effects that boot failure can have on the outcome of a hunt. Second, I have a slightly wider foot than normal, often awkwardly floating between a standard-width and wide-width boot. I have a few go-to boots that I have used for the better part of a decade or more, rarely straying from them when I’ve worn the soles out and am buying a new pair. However, Lacrosse’s Ursa ES GTX recently won me over and edged their way to the top for my go-to early season boot.
