My gun collection would best be described as diverse. I hunt with everything from flintlocks to ARs and from walnut-stocked double rifles to long-range precision rigs. Each has a purpose. One rifle in my gun room truly breaks the mold, though, pulling attributes from several firearm styles in the name of pure utility. The Fix , from riflemaker Q, chambered in the newish 8.6 Blackout is the opposite of a classic, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no place for it. In fact, its place is behind the seat of my pickup.
